Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc. ( SMS ) is seeking a motivated college student for a part-time Tax Accountant position that is primarily remote and based out of the Flanders, NJ (and occasionally the Iselin, NJ office). There would be occasional in-office presence in advance of key tax compliance deadlines. An ideal candidate would be available for full-time work in the summer months. The position requires a team player that is highly organized, responsive, extremely flexible, and can handle multiple projects while producing accurate and timely results.
Essential Job Functions:
Be willing to learn how to prepare Federal, State, and Local Income and Franchise Tax Returns, including collecting and analyzing financial data, calculating book/tax differences, and preparing supporting work papers.
Facilitate deliverable exchanges between SMS and external service providers, one of which will be a heavy focus in the months of May-August
Be willing to learn how to prepare the monthly tax provision.
Interface with Accounting / Finance / Treasury and Siemens tax employees concerning tax-related matters.
Be willing to reconcile financial and tax accounts.
Participate in special projects as assigned.
Communicate orally and in writing with tax authorities.
Gather documentation and provide analysis.
Education/
Qualifications:
Working toward a B.A./B.S. in Accounting rising junior preferred
Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) required.
Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat or comparable softwareEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
